Greetings!  As you may or may not know, the era of running movies on 35mm film is fast coming to an end.  A media that has been in use for around 100 years is being phased out by the movie studios in favor of a much cheaper way to distribute their entertainment.  In order to keep showing movies, we need to purchase a digital projector.  The cost for this, while having decreased dramatically over the past few years, is still very expensive.  We are looking at needing to spend between $45,000 and $50,000 to be able to continue to show movies.  That is where we are asking for your help.  We have for sale our collection of over 1400 movie posters that we have accumulated over the years.  We are also selling blankets, sweat shirts and t-shirts to help raise the money.  If you would just like to make a contribution to help keep the theater in Crystal, we greatly appreciate that as well.  There are also a couple of other fundraisers in the works (such as a Kickstarter campaign), and details will be posted as we work them out.  Currently, we have raised about $3,750 of our goal.  If you are interested in a sweat shirt, t-shirt, or blanket, please contact me and we will get you one.  So we don’t end up with lots of sizes or colors no one wants, we are only getting a few at a time, so we may need two or three weeks to get them for you.  There is a link above for the poster list, which will be updated as we sell the posters.  The wall between the entrance doors to the auditorium, where we have the t- shirts, sweat shirts, and blankets on display, along with the names of the people who have helped contribute to our Digital Projector Project.
